jackb_ms
Hi Darren I'm interested in the TT supercharger and you are the first posting regarding a supercharged Elises. I was looking into the mod. How is it to drive everyday? Is it realy worth it compare to the "standard way"? Jack
dazdaman
Apart from being a bit bumpy over poor road surfaces, it is incredibly smooth. It behaves nothing like a turbocharger, the accelaration is very rapid (no lag), needing quick gear changes through the close ratio 5 speed box, through 2nd , 3rd and 4th it feels like your still in 2nd gear pulling away! The clutch is nice and easy, and it behaves perfectly well around town and doesn't overheat. The brakes are squeaky until warm due to pagid racing pads. It also suffers less of the clunks and suspension creaks that Elise's are prone to! Its in a different league to a standard Elise. A friend of mine has an Elise Mk1 which has been tuned, ported and balanced to produce around 160 BHP. He drove mine and fell in love with it. I managed to do 2 track sessions (1 at Goodwood) where it outclassed pretty much every car there. The Ferraris were quicker down the straight and have much higher top speed, but Goodwood is tight and the Lotus outperforms them through all the corners. It will be sorely missed!
