finmac
When I switch them off they just stop wherever they happen to be rather than going back to the normal resting position.Thoughts?
Wrightpayne
Google mini wiper park switch. Its either gone faulty or come unclipped from the motor.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted January 2, 2020 Member Share Posted January 2, 2020 I'd put my money on that. But it might be optimal to have a quick look at the wiring at the dash switch first.Have you got the colours of the wires of interest?Any recent work nearby and is everything else operating normally?Jonathan
David aka Blue7
FinlayTake a look here, the last but one post by Nigel, which begins:"that's the parking problem fixed at least, it turned out to be the return spring broken under the plunger on the little switch. I bought a new one off SVC (Stafford Vehicle Components)"https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/retro-fit-intermittant-wipe
finmac
Really helpful guys - especially that link David. Pulled the switch off and the plunger is sticky which I guess is the problem. Looks like a new switch is needed. Out of interest does anyone know which vehicles these motors were originally fitted to please?
Wrightpayne
They are a lucas part originally - I'd guess mini. You may find a ref number on the switch.Ian
tbird
You broken her, how dare you ;-) i wonder if it's a Landrover part, get exactly those symptoms (along with no int wipe) on TD5s when the switch mounted on the motor dies , it can be un clipped and replaced on TD5 this is the switch if it is similar, part number LR057182 Actually now i come to think about it, i don't think they ever did from new, i just switched of at end of cycle and presumed TADS
David aka Blue7
Nigel's post suggests it is a Land Rover component, he supplies a link to this video
