finmac
wondered if anyone had any experience with removing the cheap nasty black plastic on the existing dash prior to recovering the dash?Heat gun?
Member Jonathan Kay Posted December 30, 2019 Member Share Posted December 30, 2019 There seem to be various different materials... have you already got an edge lifted?Jonathan
Molecular--Bob
Arch will sell you an alloy blank, or custom cut if you ask (assuming imperial?), not a Caterham standard part so they are ok with doing that. The covering material is no longer available so no way back if you strip yours and then decide to revert.
finmac
Had a go with a heat gun and came to rapid conclusion that stuff ain’t coming off anytime soon! A rub down to a smoother finish instead I think....
TomB
Just buy a blank dash from Arch & eBay the other, will be the route of least resistance. Or recover yours as is.
finmac
My car is a CSR so not sure Bruce can sort a replacement for me. Going to go with my existing one first
Molecular--Bob
I think the CSR was an Arch chassis, so might be worth an email or phone call to see what the game is.
