Hood bags

Easy question if you know the answer so...

I've just got a new hood bag from Dartford and it comes with two small strips (approx 15mm x 70mm) with velcro hooks on one half and loops on the opposite side of the other half ( both strips are the same).

Any clues as to what they are for? The bag already has loops fastened to attach it to the roll-over bar.

Just to add further confusion. My hood bag came with the 'extra' bits and it was bought back in '99 before the SV existed and the straps attached to the bay are ample enough to fit the bag to the FIA roll bar. The mystery deepens *eek*

Just to add confusion..... I have an SV with a standard bar and the hood bag straps fit perfectly around it without need for the extension pieces *confused* so what are these mystery objects really for? Answers on a postcard.............
