Sooty
Has anybody fitted replacement uprights - I've been looking at the kits supplied by Canley Classics together with the replacement hubs. My 7 is now 30 years old and despite regular lubrication I am fearful of trunnion collapse given wider wheels and sticky tyres. Id appreciate feedback on the uprights and hubs

Sooty
Sorry Jonathan. I tried to search prior to the original post but got nowhere. Your link was helpful in getting at historical discussions. I'd really like to talk to someone who has upgraded uprights and hubs. Thanks for your help. Tazio
YHM, the taper at the top of the later uprights are different , so if you have the original cast top wishbones, these need to be replaced too, this has knock on effects to front arb too... If you intend to use the later uprated hubs then you'll also need new stub axles. Post a pic of your existing set up.
Bricol
Spitfires, GT6s, Heralds are a lot heavier car, probably less maintenance, last a pretty long time . . .
