rj
If you simply use the Stack harness and leave the Caterham loom untouched you'll have a lot of excess wires - and weight.I modified the standard loom to adapt the Stack dash I have in mine.Next car will be with a PMU like the one Liferacing offers, canbus and everything that can keep the loom simple. The Stack ST81XX does unfortunately not support canbus.
anthonym
Hi rj, I'm playing with ideas if my car goes to Arch for a refettle, whether there are any opportunities when the main loom goes back in.
rj
If I were to re-do it, had the skills and the time and time was not a matter, then I'd make a loom divided in sections. One section for the engine bay, one for lightning at the front and the radiator, one for the dash (in complete) and one for the rear. I'd use proper connectors to connect the individual parts. This would enable me to replace the part that's tired without having to re-do all at the same time.(And it's more or less what'll happen with the SillyLight V2 - hopefully I'll either find or make the proper canbus power modules to make it silly simple: Power and earth and the two canbus wires to each end of the car). anthonym
I've seen modular looms offered much as you describe. Makes sense.
