Sooty
Is this any good? http://gunson.co.uk/product/77141
Paul Deslandes
I made my camber gauge with a bit of aluminium angle and a dual axis spirit level. I'm sure you could adapt the idea to measure caster as well.See here for full description and pictures, 3rd page. A lot cheaper............Paul
Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 27, 2019 Member Share Posted August 27, 2019 PaulI needed a small "spirit level" at the weekend and was playing with a newer-than-mine iPhone. I've had apps that did this before but the new built-in Measure was very neat with a digital inclinometer. How much would that simplify what you did in 2005?ThanksJonathanPS: Measure also measures things at a distance. Jim 123
I made a steel bracket similar to that which Paul describes in #2. For measurement setting I then bought a digital inclinometer with a flat magnetic base on Ebay for a tenner which is surprisingly accurate and repeatability is good. It is a piece of cake to calibrate to true vertical before you start by using a good old plumb line.

Jim 123
This is the type of thing Jonathan:https://www.ebay.co.uk/c/25028360062?iid=254051240348

Paul Deslandes
I reckon Jim's version would be easier to use than mine, especially as the inclinometer would 'stick' to the steel angle, and less than a tenth of the cost of the Gunson device.Paul

November7
Yes, you could use MultiClinometer, a mobile phone app which is simple and appears to be accurate. I use it for aligning telescopes. PGM adjusted my camber/castor settings when replacing a steering rack boot. The improvement in handling was immediately evident.
