Brian Deacon
Hi. Visiting Brands Hatch next month and need a front tow strap. Looking at the Caterham site they sell a strap for £25.00 but cannot see how it fits? Also seems a lot of money for a short piece of webbing ! Any advice?https://caterhamparts.co.uk/other/5033-tow-strap-race.html
ECR
The tow truck will have a strap so you don’t need to supply one.have a great day at brands ....

Member Jonathan Kay Posted August 13, 2019 Member Share Posted August 13, 2019 It has a fixed eye at the front, usually on the RHS.Jonathan
Brian Deacon
Having reread the instruction it says must have a tow hook with a high vis streamer attached to it. So not for towing but for finding the hook. My car is some distance away at the moment , does the front chassis have a tow hook?
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted August 13, 2019 Leadership Team Share Posted August 13, 2019 And if it's a road car with a number plate, depending upon the nose cone you have and the size of your number plate if it's towed using the towing eye you'll likely do some damage. I chose to have the tow strap looped round a front wishbone last time (the only time!) mine had to be towed off track.Stu.
