CPGCharlie
I have recently had a few of the poppers come of my Tonneau. The studs on the car are still fine but the poppers have come out of the leather. Is there a specific crimping tool to fasten them back to the leather? or is it once they're off they're off, and new ones are needed? Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 29, 2019 Member Share Posted July 29, 2019 There's a little cup that lets you apply the pressure evenly. And then big boys' tools if you have a lot to do.I recommend Soft Bits for Sevens for parts and tools (NB Club discount), and there's a crimping tool in the Equipment Register.Jonathan
SM25T
Once they are off, you'll need to rivet new ones on so the head of the pin spreads securely. By the way ... it's probably black vinyl.

orangepeel61
I always put a 3mm washer under the rivet to give it a bit more strength.
Derek Batty
If you want a proper crimping tool I think soft bits hire them out , not as cheap an option as JK s derek
