abbot
Went out for a blat to versailles on Sunday. It was extremely hot +35deg. On the way home my horn fell off. Taking the nose cone off to investigate the horn problem I noticed that the seal under the large Hex nut on the Radiator was seeping.Any one Know the part number or the dimensions of what I expect is a fiber washer to suit? The car is a 1700SS X-Flow. SM25T
Do you mean a hex bleed bolt, or the fan thermo switch ? A plumbing fibre washer will do for either
shn7
Or as I did recently when I couldn't locate the right size fibre washer, use ptfe tape.
abbot
Thanks guys, It is a large Hex headed Plug not a switch. I will try the plumbing hardware route
SM25T
If it is a proper bleed screw with a groove cut along the thread to release air when loosened a couple of turns, then the fibre washer is the way to go.
abbot
Hi, no sign of a groove on the thread. As suggested I found a suitable fibre washer at local bricolage shop. Not the same outer diameter but sufficient to cover the flat turned are under the head.
