Mike Molloy
My aeroscreen kit arrived yseterday. Any tips about mounting the screens on the stanchion? The use of csk bolts from underneath with the nyloc nuts on top looks a bit naff. I don't think the ally strip is thick enough to drill and tap. I feel some custom engineering coming on... Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted March 12, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted March 12, 2003 I drilled the stanchion and countersunk it from below for the bolt head, then used stainless dome bolts on the top. I've used a bit of threadlock to make sure that they can't come undone and it's worked perfectly and looks good to my eyes. Regards, Michael. Leadership Team Mcalvert Posted March 12, 2003 Leadership Team Share Posted March 12, 2003 DOH! Ignore the above - I was thinking Brookands, not Aeroscreens. Sorry! Michael.
Mike Molloy
No, you were right first time. I AM talking about Brooklands Aeroscreens. Dome nuts could be a good idea. Thanks.
John Howe
I did exactly the same for both Brookland screens and for the mirrows - make sure the dome nuts a s/steel. JH Deliveries by Saffron, the yellow 222bhp Sausage delivery machine

Rob k
Hi Mike I used big pop rivets from under the stanchion. They look good with nice shiny heads and flat bases. Iv'e had them on for 18mths and 4 track days now with no problems . Rob K RED VX
