6 Speed Gearbox Oil Level

Recently every time I've taken my SL out of the garage I've noticed a small redish tinged oil patch on the floor. I assume this is a minor leak from the gearbox (what with the oil b eing redish)?

 

So assuming it is how do I:

 

a. Check the oil level,

b. Top it up?

There is a plug on the right hand side of the box (viewed from the driver's seat). The correct level is when the oil is level with the bottom of this hole.

 

You top it up through the same hole. Some people use a piece of tubing to get the oil in; I use a piece of flexible copper central heating pipe.

You will find the top up hole/ level hole on the nearside of the gearbox. Take the plug out and re fill with oil untill it is level with plug. Make sure the car is also level.
