Brian,

If its the Engine - You NEED the Haynes manual for the Ford Kent , on Carbs, Haynes do an excellent manual on Webers. For the rest, the Tony Wheale book on Care & Restoration, along with a Vintage copy of the Build manual.

Thats the selection I used for mine, and, although it's now a Zetec, so a copy of the Mondeo manual has been added, it does a good job of answering all but the most obscure questions...

There is the Haynes book "Rebuilding and Tuning Ford's Kent Crossflow Engine" ISBN 1 85010 938 9;

Unfortunately, they no longer list their Escort Mk2 1975-80 1100,1300,1600 service manual that would give you the engine, gearbox, some electrics, clutch, etc.... You may find one in a boot sale somewhere.

Brian,

As mentioned above, the Tony Wheale book is almost a must have for a X-flow engined Seven.

The book is currently out of print but can be obtained if you look hard enough.

Try searching the archives for past suppliers.

The Rebuilding and Tuning Ford's Kent Crossflow Engine book is great for seeing how the engine comes to bits (and goes back together again) and also how to make it a little faster 😬

I would also recommend ISBN 1-901295-64-8

This is "How to build and power tune Weber and Dellorto DCOE carbs.

Its a very good book and shows you how to correctly adjust your carbs.

Haynes manual for a METRO 😬 😬 😬

Only kidding *tongue*

Not sure, AFAIK the K series was not covered at all in the Tony Weale book.

I guess a Rover based Haynes manual and a build manual is about the best you can get.

I am not aware of any books relating to tuning the K.

Try this link for the Tony Weale Book www.lotus-books.com I got mine from there a few weeks ago - it's a reprint, but they have plenty. You send a UK cheque to Germany, which seemed a bit odd, but you do get the book. I have a crossflow car and it is an excellent source of information.
