Hi Tim. You need to release air from the highest point in the system. If you have a heater, air possibly trapped in there. If heater valve open ... both the heater hoses should get equally hot. Have you got a bleed tee inserted into the uppermost heater hose ? Have you got a bleed bolt in top of radiator header tank ?

Thanks SM25T.  I haven't got a bleed tee or bleed bolt.  I opened the heater valve (was closed before) - both heater hoses got equally hot and after quite a while the bottom hose into the radiator got hot as well.  Hopefully that's fixed it.  Many thanks for your help.  Tim

Should have said - Thanks Ian.  I've done precious few miles over the last 3-4 years cos of too much work, especially overseas trips during the summer.  I'm hoping to remedy that this year, starting with the Fish'n'chip run.
