Tazio
Now I have rebuilt my car, to get an agreed value above £20k the insurance company requires me to install a Thatcham approved Immobiliser.I'm happy to self install, so does anyone have any experience or recommendation of ones to consider, or to avoid? Tazio
Insurance just say a Cat 1 or 2, Cat 1 is over the top so it will be Cat 2, No ecu, its a BDR..
K7 VCT
Toad sterling excel is the factory fitted item. Reliable and easy to use, and add fobs if needed.
Wrightpayne
I’d look closely at the arm/disarm method - i had one years ago and you had to touch the electronic key on 3 contacts - it was all a bit fragile. You just want to wave your dongle around in the cockpit and fire her up! :-0IanPS - this did start out as a genuine comment!! Tazio
Waving my dongle is something I try and avoid, well when I am in company .........
K7 VCT
Toad unit arms as soon as ignition is switched off. Small fob then needs to be near pick up wire that is wrapped around ignition barrel. Simples
Tazio
Thanks for that, though I removed the ignition barrel ( I am rubbish with keys, ask the wife! ).....I suppose I could do what Edd China did when he put a 12volt socket in, he wrapped the aerial around it, and then popped his dongle in the socket.
