SPW
Sorry, should have been clearer but I have tightened everything up on the manifold and its all rock solid on the primaries and can.
SM25T
If modifying or fabricating new angle brackets to fit between mounting bushes and exhaust bracket protrusion is the best fix after checking above ... I would do that
SPW
Ended up fabricating new support brackets and everything now fitted. Talking to Fast Road Conversions they find quite a range of support brackets, what a surprise!Fired the car up this afternoon and all looks good but I was surprised to find there is a significant amount of blowing in places around the rear flange of the can (the bolted section that can be removed for repacking) due to the varying gap around the end flange section and the rolled section of the main can.Is this normal as was I expecting this to be sealed and not blow (including onto the side skin)?ThanksSteve
Alastair B
Steve, well done on getting new brackets done. On a sample of 1.....mine doesn't blow in any direction, I like you would not expect it to either
SPW
AlastairThanks. Are there gaps in places on the rear flange on your system? Mine has the skin of the can pulled up tight at the bolt positions but has gaps between the bolts which is where it blows. I'd post a photo if I knew how!Steve
SM25T
Thin bead of clear silicone sealant around the inside faces on my end cap
SPW
Thanks, did you use a heat resistant silicone? I'm assuming sealing it would make it difficult to remove in future if you needed to repack the system.Steve

Alastair B
Steve, mine is pretty tight between the fasteners but with one place where it is ‘petalled’a fraction. The silicon sealant is a good solution
SM25T
Just normal clear silicone sealant on my rear end cap.
p.mole1
Make sure you put antiseize paste on the Lambda bung or you'll never get out!
