Just want to get it right first time so i can get on the road ASAP !! any help / guidance very much appreciated!! Not sure what type of body i need to put on the forms as well ! CtrMint
Have you seen the documentation from Caterham, they have a nice flowchart diagram thingy, it should be in your paperwork. I'm putting my car through tomorrow, although not IVA, it's the local Manx equivalent, however in preparation I've been through all my paperwork and found Caterham's nice helpful guide. Let me know if you can't find it I could photograph it.
marvingbiggsicloud.com
Hi Mines a bit of a long story but my car / kit was bought about 9 yrs ago ! the guy who owned it had it in his garage for about 4 yrs then had some one start building it for him got it pretty much finished to a lovely spec ARCH chassis , 2.0 duratec , carbon everything , 6 speed . Unfortunately before he could drive / get it on the road he sadly passed away and i managed to get it through word of mouth , i have all the paperwk that was needed to prove everything was new so can get a new reg but havent got any guide like that ! Have rung DVLA 3 times and had a different answer each time ! think ive got it nailed down to those forms i just wanted to make sure everything is in order so it doesnt all get sent back. So yep a photo might be very usefull indeed!
Mr Spaceman
HiMight be worth calling Caterham they a generally helpfully. I think it may have been Jordan who gave me some advice. My kit was 3 years old before I completed and registered it but still done this as a brand new car.

Jim 123
You need to submit the following along with a covering letter:Cheque for £290 or whatever it now is ; completed Form V55/4 ; 2 copy documents to prove your identity ; IVA Cert of Approval ; signed Certificate of Newness from Caterham* ; completed Form V627/1 ; Manufacturer's Invoices for the detailed kit; Cover Note from your Insurer** ; Stamped SAE if you want your paperwork returned.* Add the words "Mileage = zero miles" to the form.** Best to get 60 days cover described on the note incase things get held up. blueyedbiker
Try Bronwyn Getkate (Bronwyn.Getkate@caterham.com) . She sent me a dummy form with all the various codes that speeded the process up.

Jim 123
Given the protracted history of your car, when you contact Jordan or Bronwyn at Caterham make sure you quote your VIN as they have some controls on the issuance to f the Certificate of Newness mentioned above. blueyedbiker
I found the guys at the DVLA were UBELEIVABLY helpful, they quote a 6 week turnaround but mine would've been done in 2 if I'd had the correct forms and receipts. All communications by email with a quick response time.
