mrts
Hi all. Changing the suspension of my 2008 SV. Having removed the right rear i cannot separate the bolt from the bushing. The car is a metric, but can someone confirm that this bolt is as well? Would really appreciate bolt dimensions and grade so I can source locally, as it´s a bit urgent to get it rolling asap. Appreciate any help.
ECR
I'm unclear about this. Are you removing the damper, and is it the upper damper bolt that you are referring to or the lower one perhaps?
mrts
Yes, the damper is removed. The ´problem bolt´ is the lower one. Completely stuck in the damper. Basically I need a similar bolt for the new damper.
SM25T
When you do replace it ... do put lots of Copaslip on the shank of the bolt where it sits in the damper. Is the sleeve still inside the damper .... can you drive or pull the bolt out complete with the metal sleeve .... then carefully cut along the sleeve with a dremel until you can crack the sleeve open with a big flat blade? Then you can reuse the bolt
mrts
Will try that, hope it´s still useable. Thanks.
ChrisC
If you look at the Ikea style manual you can get all the bolt sizes and grades. I found it difficult to locally source 10.9 grade stuff, only having 8.8 on the shelf so had to wait a few days. Or PM me and I can send you a PDF of any bolt pack from my 2015 metric car.
