Guy Lowe
I want to use a Lifeline fog light as a brake light but it's too bright, I have witnessed this following people with them on track days, it's really distracting but I read somewhere that a resistor should be fitted, does anyone know which resistor should be used? Wrightpayne
Is it an LED light? A resistor is usually to stop the alternator voltage peaks burning out the LEDs.Ian
Guy Lowe
Yes LEDI have tested it with a 470 resistor but it seems a bit dim (the light not me )
Leadership Team 700newtons Posted March 10, 2019 Leadership Team Share Posted March 10, 2019 I have a my race light fitted as a brake light. It is indeed bright.I have covered some of the array with insulation tape to subdue it a bit.Simon
revilla
One other thing to think about. Can you mount that light without significantly restricting the view in your mirror? I looked at using "normal" lights on mine but in the end went for an LED strip on the roll bar IAS anything else just filled the mirror.
Guy Lowe
Revilla, that is a very good point.
