GPBox
Through previous damange one of my loom to rear light 4x connectors was destroyed, now replaced with x4 spade connectors... Bought form ebay the correct replacement x4 connector and the male/female connectors....anyone have bright ideas on how to best connect to crimps on small connectors ?....solder ?....I don't have a crimp tool form these small connectors....or just bend tabs over with pliers to crimp wires ? cheers Graham
ScottR400D
Crimping is better than and generally preferred to soldering. You should be able to get a tool to crimp the smallest auto connectors. Screwfix do one but I’m sure others do too.
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted March 6, 2019 Leadership Team Share Posted March 6, 2019 I use this one from Car Builder Solutions, it's inexpensive and does the job properly: https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/proper-f-crimp-crimping-toolStu. John Vine
If your new connectors are Econoseal, definitely crimp. Pliers are a no-no as they won't apply the necessary pressure nor shape the crimp correctly.Way back, I bought a TT320 from Polevolt, but they've now replaced it with the TT351. Not cheap, mind!JV
