I have to replace the Ford axle under my '86 series three chassis . Who can help me with the dimensions ? I can't refer ond the old axle .

In several books I have found 88" inch for the older chassis and for the original sevens . In the Ortenberger book a find 89 " and in the Tony Weale book it spells that 89" is wrong and that it have to be 88 1/2" all for the S3 Caterham .

The A frame and upper radius arms came with the chassis in 1986 .

A frame connections center /center distance 298.5mm / 11 3/4"

Upper (straight) rear radius arms length 343 mm / 13 1/2"

-If I weld up the Ford axle with new brackets with the chassis horizontal , do the schocks have to be perpendicular to the horizontal line ? and the top brackets tilted forward ?

-Or are the schocks not vertical and the top brackets centered on top of the axle tubes ?

-Is the axle casing tilted slightly upwards ?
