Wrightpayne
Need a bit for an apollo install - its about twice the thickness of the sump baffle. Anyone know the material specification and a source as caterham out of stock.Ian
SM25T
Is this a little square to go in cam cover ? Didn't get one with my kit. No problems in 10 years plus. It's only an air breather hose.
Wrightpayne
Yes - I did wonder if absence would result in one very unworn cam lobe! I guess once its all pressureised there will be a tiny jet of oil squirting out.Ian
SM25T
The Apollo tank doesn't fill with oil, so no stream of oil as far as I understand. My original engine now on 98k.
Wrightpayne
I thought it was on the pressureised side of the system hence the 2L extra oil fill. There is a fine drilling in the aeroquip connection at the top of the tank that restricts oil flow out but not air.Sure there is a post in the archives that describes the oil circuit with apollo and how it works.Happy to install without the foam whilst awaiting stock!Ian
revilla
Yes it does carry pressurised oil. Once forgot to connect it after rebuilding a mates engine (because I don't have one) and it blew oil all over the garage floor when we fired it up. It won't blow oil directly onto one cam lobe though as it enters the cam cover above the gasket which covers most of the cam area.
