Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 11, 2019 Leadership Team Share Posted January 11, 2019 Add some soundproofing to the tunnel ... or just keep the clutch depressed when you're stationary!Stu.

Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 12, 2019 Leadership Team Share Posted January 12, 2019 One other point ... swapping the gearbox oil did improve mine, but don't use Redline MTL (as a lot of owners use in 6-speed boxes).Stu.

7 wonders of the world
On the contrary 1.2 Ltrs of Redline MTL is perfect for the Type 9 box ....the level plugs on these boxes offer variable capacities depending on original application - 1.2L is the correct capacity to avoid overheating and aerating the oil. Area Representative Geoff Brown Posted January 13, 2019 Area Representative Share Posted January 13, 2019 Ford ATF fluid (red stuff) was the 'approved' CC oil for 5 speeders when I had both of my K series cars. The idler gear bearing/layshaft used to make a hell of a racket when hot so out came the red stuff & in went a good 80w/90 gL4, relative silence restored although if the tick over dropped below the norm the rattle was more discernable.
