Paul Mason
Took my seat out today I was struggling to get to the fuel filter bolts, so seemed like a good time to free up the jammed runners so SWMBO can more easily adjust and drive. Anyways, both lap belt bolts to the body on the driver's side we literally just finger tight which concerned me somewhat. But before I put it all back together again and fully tighten, just wanted to check, they are meant to be tight yeah?? May sound like a draft question, but thought I'd ask to be safe and sure. John Vine
The bolts are indeed meant to be tight (torque 47Nm). But the mounting plate is intended to rotate freely, held in place by the crinkle washer.JV
Paul Mason
Thanks John, I did think so. I'm so glad I went to the palaver of removing the seat and discovered it, it was so loose that I can imagine it could have vibrated out over time. There is a "stepped" washer against the body (with the lower step going into the harness brackets central hole) and on the outter side a flat washer. What's a crinkle washer? Paul Mason
Thanks Stephen, I'll measure the bolt (think it's an M10 if my memory of shaft to head sizing (ooo-err) is correct

Paul Mason
Ta 7 Wonders. Just for my education, do Imperial bolts come with metric heads as I used a 17mm to undo it and it fitted spot on seemingly or should I have been using an 11/16ths socket?
