Refresh nearly killed the wife (or so she says)

So after the long transformation of my Superlite to a Wife acceptable GT (photos to follow) She said she would drive the car for the first time.

We had just pulled out of the driveway and 100 yards down the street in our neighborhood she she was in first and depressed the clutch to grab second the car suddenly revved and stayed there I thought she had depressed the gas pedal and was yelling at her to release it she was yelling back at me that she was not pressing the gas.

As you can imaging the noise from the exhaust was rather loud and there we are yelling at each other over the engine noise as we sat there. (She is insisting I tried to kill her)

After a few seconds the car settled down and she yelled at me again (for yelling at her)  got out to walk home.

I tried to drive home but same issue a slight depress of the gas the car revs and stays their above what one would assume the RPM to be in relation to the gas pedal position

The pedal is not getting hung up inside the car so where to check next? The throttle linkage all seems to move freely so I am kinda lost on what may have caused this

Does it have a plastic inlet manifold around the throttle butterfly. If there is a hose clamp band around the air filter here .... if overtightened it can deform the plastic manifold and prevent the butterfly from returning to the closed position. Any air leak on the inlet manifold would send the revs into orbit .... loose or split hose.

GT = Grand Tourer = More like a Dailey driver than a track Car = More wife Acceptable = Less grief when I buy stuff

They are Throttle bodies

And no, have not worked on the cap yet (I will upload a photo of the place where the cap mounts as although restricted I see what looks like a block off plate (I will post a photo on my org thread regarding that issue)

Just came down with the flu last night so I am sick as a parrot but will check everything above once I drag myself out of bed
