andy couchman
My Ford crossflow engine is dry sumped and runs a remote filter. I've always used whatever Halfords filter looks to fit. Is there a best filter I should be using? Think it's all Titan gear.Thanks.Andy
auyt
Filters vary in fairly generic sizes, ie the thread, the outer diameter of the seal and the length.Take the HALFORDS part number and Google what it fits and go from there, and look for cross refernce pages there are quite a few.Happy hunting. Wrightpayne
FRAM, Crosland and MANN are filter brands I'd trust. MANN element is recommended for my Porsche 996 and is purported to be OEM. Ian
DaveMorris
Andy, I have a d/s x-flow with remote mocal filter housing which is fixed to block in position of the original fuel pump. I use Wix WL7098 or Champion C103. The only thing that I ensure, having been told this many years ago, is not to use a filter that has any internal non-return valve. Dave.
