GPBox
..for my 2003K, anyone found a better/more robust solution than the angle iron+rubber bobbin ?....cheers all !Graham
Wrightpayne
IIRC one of our brethren made a stainless support out of some box section that actually went under the floor with a flat plate welded on at 90 degrees. The plate used the original bolt hole fixing. The box section became a sort of cantilever altering the force exerted on the fixing bolt.Ian
Nigel Fox
Yes, mine is as Ian describes, made by Mike Riley (Raceco). It’s like an upside down letter T.the bottom of the T is bolted to the chassis, one side of the top tucks under the floor, the other side sticks out and carries the exhaust bobbin. Bricol
If it's same single bolt fixing as my 2001 K - then no.Careful alignment of the bracket - bending it to the right angle, even cutting bits of it away, slotting the holes, the same with the front one, and of the exhaust, so nothing is forced into line, and I've only had to replace one in 17 yrs. It's a carried a Powerspeed exhaust for the last 12 or more years too. ECR
Single bolt fixing on mine too. I just bent up one of the same design but in thicker material. Its lasted 20 plus years with some very heavy plumbing attached on occasions.
