7 wonders of the world
The ally plates you are referring to were circa 25x4mm - these are no longer used as the floor thickness has increased, I asked the same when I was at Arch recently collecting my chassis.Runner's bolt directly to the floor
arthur rayner
22Absolutely brilliant....well done...thanks very much...I have never seen one of these strap hole finder devices before, how amazing! I've been building aluminium bodies for a decade or more and had to do it the hard way...hit & miss...wow, just about to buy one now on ebay. Life is worth living after all! Many thanks indeed.Arthur

Eriedor
All rivets are present which bodes well. Plan is to gently work area back to flat and fit the reinforcement bars. Even though they aren't apparently necessary any more I clearly need it given the current distortion of the floor. I tried but couldn't find anything on a DIY solution in the archives though. Member Jonathan Kay Posted January 1, 2022 Member Share Posted January 1, 2022 "There's a much stronger DIY reinforcement solution described in the archives."Brackets to pass the load directly into the chassis tubes rather than via the floor.Jonathan
Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 1, 2022 Leadership Team Share Posted January 1, 2022 The lowered floors are 3mm aluminium (originals are 1.5mm) so if fitted correctly with steel rivets there shouldn't be any sagging. Standard floors were often fitted with aluminium rivets not steel. The additional folds in the lowered floors also aid strength in the floor itself.Stu.
