Bennett
Hi all I found a leak Numpty question but what is it and how do I stop it. So if I am underneath car drivers side and look up between the gearbox and chassis there is a hole on side of gearbox about the size of a penny . Possibly has a place for something to be screwed on or similar thanks
Englishmaninwales
Front driver’s side on 6 speed is the filler, should have a plug in it. 5 and 6 speed have a speedometer drive or blanking plate in the same side of the gearbox, further back, aft of the main gear case in the tail shaft housing. ScottR400D
I wouldn’t just tighten the plug if it already seems tight. I’d remove it first. If no oil comes out top it up till it does. Clean the plug, maybe fit a new one. It should seal fairly easily.
SM25T
Be ready to catch some oil as you remove the plug ... in a container rather than up your sleeve !

Jonathan Kay
I cut a length off the end of one.Make sure that you use a ratchet wrench that's reversed with a lever rather than one has to be applied the other way round..Jonathan
