Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 19, 2018 Member Share Posted September 19, 2018 I'd start with the maintenance notes from Alcester Racing Sevens. Is the final section of brake line to the callipers rigid or flexible?Jonathan
Tom_Arundel
Yes take them off. There are several potential problems with rear calipers the worst being seal failure/leaks, which are not uncommon especially if they have been hot or have any corrosion on the piston. The whole unit needs a good clean anyway. It may be prudent to replace the seals or maybe the entire caliper if you encounter any problems. Take care with any rigid pipes (especially on race cars) as they fracture easily if flexed a lot ( if you don`t know their history change/upgrade them) I think most race cars have been upgraded to braided hoses. Bleeding is the challenge unless you have decent equipment. Its about 1hr. per side unless you hit snags
