I confirmed the temperature was fine from an IR thermometer and wrapped the primaries, and changed the thermostat to an 82 degrees one at the same time. That was why I raised the question as to whether the temp read is accurate. I don't believe a standard rad isn't up to the job for a standard 1.8. Bricol Posted September 17, 2018 Share Posted September 17, 2018 Mines sat at speed (and very high revs 6spd box and3.9 diff) on autoroutes in stupid hot summer temps for a few hours, and similar in stop start traffic around Lake Geneva for a couple of hours.
