CharlesElliott
I have a misting of oil - I believe it is diff oil but I guess it could be gearbox oil coming back through the tunnel - forming on the forward facing side of the fuel tank, just in line with the centre of the De Dion. I don't think there is a breather on the BMW diff. I'm sure I've seen similar oil patterns on other cars. Where is the oil coming from?Charles
mikecocker
I seem to remember that there is what I took to be a tiny breather hole, maybe just a couple of millimetres, at the very top middle of the backplate facing backwards. Could that be the culprit?
SM25T
That sounds almost like a porous spot in the casting ?
Tazio
It could also be coming from somewhere upstream, the air underneath would take it from the engine or gearbox, don't ask me how I know....
Jim 123
A long shot, but it might be worth checking it isn't fluid spray from the T connector?
dave_h34
Not from the driveshaft seals is it?
