Side door mirror

Managed to break the side door mirror whilst the car is in the garage, is it possible to just replace the mirror or is it a complete new housing? Looks like the housing might prise apart but so far I have been unable to open it........do I need a bigger hammer!!!

You can just replace the mirror itself.  They're available online.  Got a replacement on ebay.  Be aware that, provided your car is right hand drive, your left hand mirror is slightly convex, whereas your left hand mirror is flat.

When pushing the mirror into place, its easier to put the surrounding rim face down, drop the mirror face down into it, centre the gap around the edges, then push the housing down on top of the lot, thus ensuring you get an even pressure all round as you snap it together.

One of those glasses listed on eBay was £21, £2 more than a complete replacement from CC.

Replaced both my mirrors with convex glass - see post #12 and #14 at https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/convex-door-mirrors?page=1 .  As above, put the new glass in the upturned bezel on a flat surface, then offer up the mirror housing body without moving the bezel - it's really easy to break the new glass!!!!!
