anthony1956
Having had the pump out the other day and examined it with a view to replacement with a "replacement" that is too big and involves ways I have not fathomed with jubilee clips, we did some measurements, me and EEK.The new pump appears to be about 3mm bigger. The old pump white plastic "carrier" is not a snug fit before having castellations apparently added. These are about 1.5mm thick. So remove them and the space gets 3mm bigger. These castellastions look "added afterwards".WHAT IF the plastic castellations can be removed and the new spacer is a nice fit for the new pump? No more jubillee clips etc.I need, or someone needs, a carrier that can be dissected to see if this works. I think when fitting the new pump at present the idea is to discard this white plastic part (which isn't small) and then try to affix the new bigger pump.Very sorry I did not take any pics in the heat of the moment.Anthony
7 wonders of the world
Had the same problem you can cut away some of the plastic ring or the plastic sleeve in order to use the new rubber sleeve that seems to come with most new pumps now, the OE pumpp in the white plastic was a p1ss fit anyway.
