Toyota engine in an S3

Has anyone put one of these into a Caterham, the 4AG engine. It's a fantastic engine good for 8500 rpm on standard internals. The later ones have 5 valve heads if they fit in an Elise they should fit into a Caterham?

BudJuggler who posts in these ‘ere parts has or had until recently the Caterham prototype fitted with (I think) the Toyota engine from an Elise, the car was for sale and at an ultra tempting price too, I assume it’s been snapped up.

I think the sigma is a better solution. Smaller, lighter and cheaper to build to the same power level, and installation parts are Caterham produced, having said that they sound great, and they are well understood in terms of what is required to make them work.

I seem to remember the toyota engine could not be re-bored - I could be talking complete rubbish of course!

As above contact Andy Webber (Budjuggler) or the original owner Simon Lake (Lakey) who may be reachable through contacts of contacts, as I think he is no longer a member nor, as he once was, working at Toyota.

From what I have read, they were both delighted by the car.

P.S. I had a Celica (the last model) and it was a lovely car to drive.

Thanks, the 1.6 has the exhaust on the same side as the K series which would make things a bit easier.
