Faded Carbon

The Carbon Front wings on my 7 have now started to fade, particularly after 5 days away with the car staying out all the time in this incredible summer! The car is 2012 & has original front wings. They have lost the depth of the 'blackness' & are turning more 'grey'.

Is there a sensible remedy, whether it be the use of compound-flat with wet n dry & polish or......?

WD40 applied several times until no more seems to be absorbed, then buffed off after an hour or so, works well for the carbon wings on my 2012 R400. Also white water mark spots don’t seem to be a problem when treated in this way.

SM25T uses furniture polish IIRC with good results. 

(Also very good on side screen windows and vinyls IME)

I have the original un-lacquered Caterham front mudguards and I have always used Simoniz Jet Black Trim restorer.

Used regularly it has kept them in perfect condition and unlike many people, I have never had problems with rain spots.

Just make sure you get the cream and not the spray.
