The stick goes into reverse but there is no drive.

Physical investigation will have to wait until I get back from holiday in a couple of weeks.

I was at Road and Race Transmission today, picking up my type 9 box and diff after their rebuild. I mentioned your symptoms to Phil, the type 9 guru, his immediate reaction was the pin is broken. For him it's a simple fix. Bite the bullet, get the engine and box out , there should be local 7 owners who would love to help you...box fix would be quite inexpensive...

...but it would make so much sense to improve the ratios at the same time.  I almost want mine to develop a problem so I can justify the upgrade
