Leadership Team Shortshift Posted July 17, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted July 17, 2018 IgorI go with them, both in the UK and in Europe, but selectively and with my eyes wide open. Positioned at the 'value end' of the spectrum. In my experience, simple (no frills), straightforward events. Tend to book on a lot of participants - I guess that helps keep the costs down. Top-tip for their UK events; sit-out the first few hours until the Clios, 205s and Corsas have either fallen off or broken down then enjoy the rest of the day in what will likely be very light traffic! Last time a group of us went to Mallory with Javelin, there were only three or four cars running alongside the Sevens from around 2:30pm onwards.James
L7 FST
Igor - My experience of Javelin is quite different from James’s. They’re very experienced, friendly organizers and I’ve always found they enforce good track discipline. They also book sensible numbers, and all their events are open pit lane. Loads of track time, and really excellent value for money! The last two Javelin events I’ve been on have had some wonderful cars taking part too - historic Jags, MGs etc - and beautifully driven. Our Club events are great, but other excellent alternatives are available, so don’t get put off! Stephen
Leadership Team Shortshift Posted July 19, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted July 19, 2018 Oh - I think there's quite a bit of overlap in our experiences there, as well as some clear differences as well. As I said, I go on Javelin days both at home and abroad, so my endorsement (in context) is clear!James
p.mole1
I have done one Javelin track day at Croft and driving standards were the best I've come across anywhere yet! although one day is not a good reference.Friendly well organised although as James states wait a bit before going out, although I only waited 20 mins for it to calm down. Plus you get to see some quite interesting cars, The quickest MK1 Golf quite unbelievable, a Mini with a R1 engine, an awesome 7 type thing with a turbo R1 engine mega quick till blew up! Quite interesting to pit yourself against M6'S and Elises etc
seriouspete
I’ve done lots of Javelin days, and they’re my favourite organiser, professional, safe and good value. The days are always best towards the finish, when the numbers have dwindled, but I don’t think they overbook.
