Stuart Wallace
Anyone got any idea what pressure I should have? I've just fitted a dry sump system to my VX HPC and I am getting 5 bar at idle and about 5.5 bar at 3000 revs. It seems a bit high to me, the system is from SBD with a slim jim pump from pace and I think I can adjust the pressure at the pump. EFA
Stuart, Adjusting the pressure relief valve on the pump will reduce the maximum pressure at any engine speed. You either have an instrumentation system problem or very thick oil! In light of my experiences with SBD, I suggest you take it to them and tell them to fix it. Then ensure you get a qualified engineer to second their diagnosis if they try to give you a bill. Stuart Wallace
Thanks Arnie, I'm out and about tomorrow, I think I'll pop in to Blackbird Motor Sport and have a chat with Andy about it. I think he worked on the Vx engined cars that Pual Harvey used to run. Stuart
