Dave Rayner Posted May 7, 2018 Share Posted May 7, 2018 POBC, having just ripped apart my diff carrier at the weekend are there any major issues fitting one with diff in car or is it diff out and refit? I am assuming I had an older, weaker version fitted to mine when fitted (2012) but upgraded to new back plate. adz Posted May 8, 2018 Share Posted May 8, 2018 I had to replace 2 of the original BMW diff cages. 2011 car. since I got the upgraded back plate version its been fine. took the diff out to do it. I dont know if there is enough movement on the half shafts to let you do it in situ.Adam Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
