Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted May 2, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted May 2, 2018 ... for a K-Series. What's the choices nowadays?I've had a weeping inlet cam front oil seal, not sure whether it was a dodgy oil seal or related to the new head I fitted when I rebuilt the engine, but need to get it renewed. What's the thoughts on using a small amount of RTV around the base of the seal?Stu. revilla
Corteco ones seem to be good:https://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/223182/0/camshaft_oil_seal_rear____red_1_8l_petrol_freelander_1___mg_roverhttps://www.brit-car.co.uk/product.php/407576/0/camshaft_oil_seal_black_freelander_1You can still get original Land Rover ones for a few pounds more, but I and friends have used the Corteco ones without issue, they're a reputable brand and Dave Andrews has recommended other Corteco seals to me in the past.If you need some urgently I may just have some I could bring up tomorrow? oilyhands
I keep good quality double lipped seals in stock that work, if you have a problem sourcing them.Oily
