Dellc
Hi all. I’m new here having not owned my 7 for a year yet. Has anyone got any tips for cleaning carbon fibre especially the dash? Any products that might be out there? Any help would be welcome! Cheers
SM25T
Woodsilk non-silicone beeswax aerosol polish. Look for the yellow beehive cap. Furniture polish shelf in supermarket. Dirt cheap.

Manstein
If you have any water marks on the dash WD40 is effective at removing them.
Nick T
When I asked the nice man from Autoglym the same question at the CC Easter open day he suggested their super resin polish. It does remove some of the grime and add shine. However I might invest in a can of Woodsilk to give it a go.
Mavic82
Muck off bike protect is excellent, cleans, refreshes and protects an is made to be used on carbon fibre.
Dellc
Thank you, I’ll try the WD40 (because I’ve got some) then I’ll try the others. Cheers
TomB
You’ve got to be careful as some cleaners remove the resin. I’d also be careful using an abrasive polish too frequently. Last night I washed my ne wings with Autoglym green wash product, and sealed with a wax when I waxed the rest of the car.
oilyhands
To clean is one thing, but if you want to renovate the look, the Gtechniq C4 ceramic trim restorer should do the trick, it should also seal it.Oily
Paul Mason
I've used autoglym super resin on my unlaquered wings and lacquered dash (both carbon), paintwork, powder coating, vinyl, leatherette tillet seat insert things and even tyres (though bizarrely, best results for me on tyres is autoglym metal polish which I discovered accidently). Gets a thumbs up from me as a jolly decent job of everything. That, or I'm just too tight to buy anything else!
thompster
AmorAll original protectant works for me. I suspect back to black type silicon sprays would also work well but not tried it myself.
anthonym
DO NOT acetone apply like this idiot (me) did to the horror of watching fellow 7 person ..
Member Jonathan Kay Posted April 19, 2018 Member Share Posted April 19, 2018 Or products that contain it! That includes many proprietary brake and clutch cleaners.Don't get me started. (Although it probably would!)Jonathan
John Vine
A while ago, I asked AutoGlym for their advice re restoring my R400D carbon dash. They replied:"Our Technical Specialist has reviewed the photos and the only 2 products we would advise are Vinyl and Rubber Care or Instant Show Shine. Bumper and Trim will make the dashboard too greasy and this will in turn attract dust very quickly and make it look worse. If Vinyl and Rubber Care is applied carefully by a cut up piece of sponge and buffed with a clean microfibre this will add some gloss and a layer of protection to make future cleaning easier. Instant Show Shine could be used to maintain."I've yet to try either product, but pass on their advice anyway.Maybe I'll just leave it as it is, and simply call it patina.JV
