Molecular--Bob
Hi AllI have a new Denso alternator that came supplied with a v-belt pulley. I got around to removing this this morning and discovered that there looks to be a spacer behind this that has to come out for the Duratec poly-v pulley to fit. It seems quite disinterested in leaving, is there a knack to getting it out that doesn't involve hitting it with a hammer? Also is there a recommended torque for fastening it all back up?CheersIan B. SM25T
Is there room to get the legs of a 2 or 3 leg bearing puller behind it ... or is it flush against the body ? Could you bolt something to the end of the shaft and then grip the sleeve with something like pipe fitting pliers and rotate it while pulling towards the end of the shaft ? Molecular--Bob
Got it out, its amazing what you can achieve with force of will, persistence and industrial levels of swearing. There was a tiny amount of bearing grease between the bearing and the spacer, got it out with some small circlip pliers.
SM25T
Well done. Cursing usually shifts anything.
