Hi 7WOTW,

Is this the Girling unit fitted to the crossflow (and other) cars circa 1982-95?

And is the AP unit a significant improvement on a standard braked car?

Hi Dave,

AFAIK Caterham have only used the one tandem master cylinder,

I'm not using a standard brake set up so I cant offer any guidance on that front I'm afraid, i'm running Hi Spec all round.

I have the AP m/c with a standard brake set up. I wouldn't say it makes an improvement but it does give a much firmer pedal which basically means more pressure is required to activate the brakes. The result is less pedal travel. 

I think it comes down to personal preference....

Many thanks Neil and Chris - that feedback helps a lot. A firmer pedal would work wonders for me. It all stops fine, and I've played with pads etc., but on a standard set up.

Neil - good luck with the sale - I'll hold out for an AP unit I think.
