Widetrack rack extension

I thought I had a couple spare from when I was trying to put together a wide track kit, but I must have got rid of them.

I’ve got an idea to turn one into a ball joint separator. I want to attach a nut to the male thread, cut the extension to length and shape a curved recess, so it fits between the upright and the underside of the upper wishbone ball joint.
