Steveh7
Hi All Just a quick question on the above and the recent MSA rule change re extinguisher servicing. Running in grp 1 an extinguisher is optional however I do have one fitted. Its not been serviced in my ownership does this mean: 1. I can ignore as this item is optional 2. Has to be serviced as its fitted 3. If I remove the bottle then I can forget about this Thanks Steve
Comp Sec
My understanding is that if it is fitted it must be serviced.Personnally i'd get it serviced rather than remove.
Englishmaninwales
Lifeline cylinders need servicing every two years and cannot be serviced beyond 10 years. If your system is plumbed in, Lifeline have conveniently changed the diameter of the pipes ( for improved performance) so the new cylinders don’t fit the old pipes, and no step adapter is supplied. Whole new system needed or fit a hand held. At least I have a nice big cylinder for my workshop.
magister
I have just replaced mine (service date 2005!!) with one from JCC Race and Rally - Just under £100 + vat.Extinguisher is made by Lifeline and my existing pipework fitted ok. It came as part of a kit with all the fitting cables/pipes etc.
Englishmaninwales
Thanks, Paul, I’ll give them a ring. My information above was the result of trying to buy a new cylinder from Demon Tweeks last week.
Englishmaninwales
Last of the Lifeline 2017 stock with 6mm tubing. 2018 (onwards) stock is 8 mm.
