Area Representative Andrew Gilbert Posted February 6, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted February 6, 2018 Hi allDoes any part of my 7 need an FIA sticker showing to take part part in the speed championship? I have a correct track day roll bar and I have a petty strut, but neither have the sticker. Am I doomed from the outset? Thanks
Comp Sec
Hi Andrew,Dependent on age the sticker is normally either on the petty strut, the side upright or the rear leg under the boot cover, if it is missing don't panic you can get a replacement. Is it a single Diagonal or the cross ?If a single then you can get a new sticker from Arch.If a Cross then I think it is Caged...there is a nominal cost and you ahve to send some photo's but they are pretty helpful. chris whitlow
You'll need one on the roll bar but you can get them from the bar manufacturer. It depends who made your roll bar but I called Bruce at Arch, he sent me one in the post and I put it at the bottom of one of the rearward facing bars just under the line of the boot cover. rj
Whilst we're at it:Does anyone know who has made the "SLR" cage for an imperial chassis?
Englishmaninwales
rj, SLR cage for my ‘94 car was made by Caged Laser https://www.cagedlaser.co.uk/wp/Malcolm
Area Representative Richard Price Posted February 25, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted February 25, 2018 RJ,I believe the original SLR cages (were the forward legs are fixed through the scuttle) were made by Safety Devices. Later cages (where the forward leg fixings pass through the chassis top rail) are made by caged.
rj
Thanks both.Mine will be the latter. Unfortunately the sticker is lost as a very friendly soul, whom had borrowed it from me, had it powdercoated before return. Nice move, but he forgot about the sticker...
