Ivaan
What's the best way of cleaning the harness belts? They are off of the car and could do with a clean before fitment. TIA. Clive
Silver Machine
Removed mine a few months ago. Given that the metal bits are sewn in did not fancy trashing the washing machine so went for the following. Bucket of water plus washing detergent.Old fashioned scrubbing brush.Plenty of rinsing water (hose pipe).Half decent weather to do this outside on old B and D Workmate.Hang out to dry. Leadership Team SLR No.77 Posted January 31, 2018 Leadership Team Share Posted January 31, 2018 Being as my trade area is sewing threads .... I think you'll find you degrade the strength of the harness more with the abrasion from a scrubbing brush than you will by machine washing! Just remember the webbing and thread are all Nylon and adjust the machine settings as necessary. Washing inside a net bag will prevent damage from the buckles.Stu. Wrightpayne
I’m no expert but I’d be inclined to use a gentle detergent - something like ecover washing liquid.pillowcase makes a good laundry bag.Ian

Ivaan
Thanks all, some good suggestions made. Soak and hand wash seems the easiest. Don't fancy the washing machine on spin cycle with buckles in there Clive
7 wonders of the world
or more importantly the salty detergent getting inside the buckles as their operating mechanism is lightly greased for ease of operation and safety
