Tazio
I would have thought live axle , maybe a bit early for a de dion?
Area Representative Richard Price Posted January 15, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted January 15, 2018 Brian,I'd guess, if its a genuine BDR chassis, that it'll be a dedion car. In which case, it will be a 7" Ford Sierra diff (rather than the similar 7.5" fitted to Granada/Scorpio).
eric
a 2.8 i sierra but with a light exterior modification , to help it to fit

Area Representative Piers300 Posted January 15, 2018 Area Representative Share Posted January 15, 2018 My 1985 Super Sprint (sold 8/9 years ago)was the last Chassis number before the first De Dion. CC never offered me the option to have DD. My car was 4 speed live axle. So in 1985, both axle’s were available.Piers

brianrsutton
Elie, thank you it is an Ital axle or what we had in Australia is a Morris Marina and I am sure that there is other Morris cars that I can source spares
Wrightpayne
In the uk, the Marina morphed into the Ital in the late 70s / early 80s. I know because dad had 3 marina's and one Ital. DUT690K, MEA808P, BFP708T and VNR161X. Funny, after that I cannot remember any of his reg plates. These are the cars learned my car mechanic skills - setting valve clearances, fitting points and timing them in, plug gapping, greasing prop shafts and suspension joints etc.I believe the Triumph herald used the same diff internals - CWP.Ian
