Hampshire West AR
When I first got it about 95-105 but I found it easily overheated in traffic so put twin fans on the radiator, standard Blackbird bike one and put in a Suburu rad switch to cut in at 86 degrees and it's been fine ever since. Oil temp only gets really hot on trackdays and the pressure can drop really low on idle. I only have the 4.5 litre oil tank, talking to Matt Deakin I may go to a 6 litre one when I next have the car in bits for my gearbox upgrade.Nick
pikeyboy
i have a fireblade with a standard caterham ali rad, it never runs much above a qtr even on a hot track day when im giving it death. I wasnt sure if the sender is calibrated to the gauge or if the rads too large. Its JW built car if that helps.
Ivaan
My R1 runs in the low 80s, but can get up to 90 in traffic. The on the bike, the fan doesn't cut in until 106 degrees! and switches off just under 100. My car uses the standard R1 bike rad, but I should think that the airflow is better on the car than the bike. Never had an overheating problem. 7Nut7
Thanks for all the replies.Just thought mine might be running a touch hot but now appears ok as it runs at about 90 and the fan kicks in at 97. I also have a manual switch for the fan on the dash.
